With every bottle sold, we support a local, social project that focuses on hygiene. For our first year, we selected the Blue School project organized by Caritas Switzerland.
Caritas: «Blue Schools» in Cambodia The population in the northwest of Cambodia lives in frugal circumstances. Although they have access to water, there are severe difficulties with hygiene. Those issues are particularly harmful for children, who are highly vulnerable and in the constant risk of illness. Caritas Switzerland targets these problems directly in schools. Currently, there are eight «Blue Schools» where hygiene is constantly improved. In these schools fresh drinking water and child-friendly toilets are provided. In addition there are ecological stations to wash hands with water and soap.
Children at Blue Schools are taught how climate, ecologies and health cohere. In the school gardens they learn how important the efficient use of natural resources is, in relation to food production. In fun ways they improve their knowledge of nutrition, biological cultivation and sustainable use of land and water. Another important subject at Blue Schools is avoiding the use plastic and the specific recycling of goods. Overall with this project 3150 children at eight Blue Schools can live their lives with significantly improved hygiene. Especially encouraging is the commitment of the 100 teachers, who enthusiastically engage in the field of hygiene. Due to the success of this project, Caritas Switzerland is planning 45 new Blue Schools in Cambodia.
